Vår Pippi - Vår Vang

A tribute to Ingrid Vang Nyman and the modern breakthrough in Swedish children's book illustration. In autumn 2016, the artist who gave Pippi Longstocking a face would have turned 100 years old. Although her pictures are widely distributed, she is strangely unknown. This is an illustrator anthology where famous contemporary illustrators write and draw about Ingrid Vang Nyman's significance for the modern image. A colourful, interesting and perspectival book. It is also unusual: Illustrators write about an illustrator. It doesn't happen very often.Many of Sweden's most beloved illustrators have shown their commitment to lifting a colleague who has had such a great influence on children's book illustration without getting his rightful place on the children's literature parnassus.
